Small Business Loan Requirements

If your business has been operating for at least 6 months, brings in at least $8,000 in monthly revenue, and has an active business checking account, you may qualify for funding from Expansion Capital Group. We offer funding to businesses throughout the United States. Unfortunately, we are unable to fund in North Dakota at this time. Additional eligibility criteria apply.

Requirements to Explore Financing

Unlike traditional bank loans, which often place significant weight on credit scores alone, ECG looks at your business's overall performance, including cash flow and revenue consistency, when reviewing eligibility.

Expansion Capital Group generally works with businesses that meet the following initial criteria:

  • In business for at least 6 months
  • Generating at least $8,000 in monthly revenue
  • Using an active business checking account
  • A FICO score of 500 or higher
  • Based in the United States (excluding North Dakota)

Additional eligibility criteria apply.

Not the Right Fit for Every Business

ECG is not the right fit if:

  • Startups or businesses operating less than 6 months
  • Less than $8,000 in monthly revenue
  • No active business checking account
  • Seeking grants or non-repayable funding
  • Seeking personal loans
  • Seeking PPP, relief, or stimulus funding
  • Filed for bankruptcy or are considering it

What You'll Need to Apply

Having a few things ready before you start makes the process faster. Most businesses will need:

  • A business tax ID (FEIN)
  • An active business checking account
  • At least three months of recent business bank statements

Checking your eligibility involves no hard credit pulls, so your credit score won't be affected at the time of application. Requirements may vary by state, and additional documentation may be requested during your application process.

Why Businesses Choose ECG

Since 2013, Expansion Capital Group has provided funding to more than 40,000 businesses across the United States that meet these small business loan requirements. ECG combines fast underwriting, clear communication, and flexible financing options to help established businesses move forward with confidence.

When you're trying to make payroll, replace equipment, or keep a project moving, the last thing you need is uncertainty about your application or the financing you're considering. That's why we've built our process around clear communication and practical support from start to finish.

Real support, not a call queue.

A funding advisor explains your fees and terms in plain language before you commit, walks you through the process from application to funding, and picks up the conversation again when you need more capital down the road.

Your offer is sized to your business, not the other way around.

Our review looks at your business's cash flow and overall performance, not just your credit score.

If you need more down the road, you don't have to start over.

Once you've paid down roughly half of your current funding, you may be eligible to apply for additional capital, on terms that reflect your track record with us.
