Expansion Capital Group’s Small Business Spotlight awards $25,000 to one local business in Sioux Falls or the surrounding area to support its next stage of growth.
About the Small Business Spotlight
Small businesses are a vital part of our community. The Small Business Spotlight recognizes one eligible local business in Sioux Falls or the surrounding area, and provides $25,000 in funding to support growth.
Submissions open February 16 at 12:00 AM CST. Submissions close on April 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST. The selected business will be announced on or about May 1, 2026. No purchase is required to enter or be nominated.
To be eligible, the business must:
- Operate in Sioux Falls or within 20 miles of the city
- Have been open and operating for at least one year
- Have fewer than $5 million in annual revenue
- Employ more than one W-2 employee
- Be in good standing and operating legally
Businesses may nominate themselves or be nominated by customers, employees, or community members.
Submit a short application sharing:
- Your business story
- How the $25,000 would be used to support growth
- The impact your business has on the community
All eligible submissions are reviewed by a judging panel comprised of representatives from Expansion Capital Group and at least one community member, as described in the Official Rules. One eligible business will be selected by a review panel according to the criteria described in the Official Rules.
Nominate a Business
Business owners may submit their own business, or community members may nominate a small business in Sioux Falls or the surrounding area.
